Bespoke clothing range to illustrate the colours and cultures of Ghana and to bring African fashion to the streets of the Western world.
The garments feature natural fibre, hand dyed exotic batik fabric and elegantly tailoring punctuated with carefully selected accents for multi-ethnic flair. These creations are designed for fun and for sophistication, for the young and the mature, for slim and full figures. My lines consist of one-of-a-kind, unique creations and of limited series.
The patterns and colours of the clothing are unique and vibrant, adding spice and spark to any wardrobe. The patterns depict the adinkra symbols of Ghana, each with a significant meaning. These symbols were developed by the Ashante people of West Africa and can be traced back to the 17th century. Over time, the number of symbols grew. In modern times, they have been used for every-day wear, as well as for special occasions.

Renaissance of our Roots (RooR) is a fashion house which aims to produce contemporary African attire. RooR was originally created in recognition of a niche in the market for contemporary African fashion and fabrics. We provide both affordable fashion and an upscale bespoke service encompassing everything from clothing to bags and accessories; and in the future will expand to include other categories of fashion.
Season after season retail stores bring out some sort of graphic print bohemian jungle wear for their summer range and call it ‘African’…”Hold on a second. That’s not quite African”. In fact, it couldn’t be further from the truth. RooR hopes that you will allow it to enlighten you, hold your hand if you may, and show you the wealth of fabrics that is available from the continent. We have such a wide range of fabrics from Ankara and seersucker to Kente and lace that we hardly have to use western fabrics at all. Well. Unless you count the cotton lining…
Our vision is to become the number one brand recognised for bringing authentic culturally influenced fashion to the market. So Ladies, and Gentlemen – yes we cater to the men as well – grab your items whilst you can. In a few years you’ll be happy you got your hands on one of the RooR Originals.

KiRette Coutureis a revolution. And at its helm are creators Anrette Ngafor and Kibonen Nfi. Influenced by their passion for fashion and love for their roots, the duo weave traditional and contemporary styles to bring African sexy back to the street and catwalk.
Hatched in the New York chic bubble, KiRette Couture is mainly inspired by the “toghu” (also known as the Bamenda gown) – a colourful and intricately embroidered fabric typically worn, on special occasions, by the people of the North West and Western provinces in Cameroon. Although the “toghu” cloth is KiRette Couture’s signature fabric, designs will not be limited to it. In true edgy and funky style, this one-of-a kind label aims to create a new fashion language which transcends racial and cultural borders by exploring, experimenting with and fusing various textiles. Our sourcing and manufacturing arrangements span across Africa.
